The Love Experiment was birthed out of a desire to take my faith out of my seat and into the street. In June of 2012 I took a seminary course on Missional Leadership by Reggie McNeal. During this one week intensive course I laughed and cried a lot in response not only to the professor’s jokes, but also to the freedom I was feeling from God working in me. I felt like I was given permission and encouraged to love as Christ loved in a way I had never experienced before. I can’t explain it all in a short paragraph, but as you can see it has driven me to create The Love Experiment.
We are Ryan and Noelle, a young couple who met in college and have done our best to continually say “Yes!” to God. We are a little on the natural, organic side of things in life as a whole. We are real people who feel compelled to express authentic love to our friends, family and neighbors. We are okay with mistakes, spilt milk and do-overs. We believe that Jesus lived a messy, organic lifestyle (I don’t mean $17 organic locally grass fed made with raw milk goat cheese), I mean that he adapted his infinitely glorious self to the life rhythms of 1st century Palestine. I am not saying he was a hippie or a social activist, rather, that he was real, always present and seemed to always choose to sit in the smoking section. He never failed to express his values which were in line with what he commanded us: Love God, Love others.
We pray that at the end of our lives, we will have spent everything on the 2 greatest commandments that Jesus gave us
1. Love God with all your heart, soul and mind
2. Love your neighbor as yourself
